The Difference Between Coconut Cream & Coconut Milk

Coconut Milk & Coconut cream, What are those?

Coconut cream and coconut milk are both manufactured from the fresh kernel (endosperm) of Cocus nucifera (L.). Considering coconut milk, is very popular as a traditional food ingredient, especially in Asian countries.

The traditional way of extracting coconut milk is a very time-consuming effort. First of all fresh coconut kernel should be obtained from harvested coconut.

To do that they should be split into halves and then the kernel should be grated. Then they should be extracted by pressing them and placing them in your palm and it is a hard job. Which consumes a lot of time.

But due to the busy lifestyle, there's no time for modern consumers to grate coconut and do all that mentioned stuff. That's why canned coconut milk and canned coconut cream were introduced to the market.

Today we are writing about coconut milk and coconut cream because they can be confusing facts to our beloved consumers.

The Difference

coconut milk and coconut cream are characterized by their opaque, milky liquid nature and are high in fat content.

The main difference between coconut cream & coconut milk is the fat content. According to the Codex Standards for Aqueous coconut products (CODEX STAN 240-2003),

  1. Coconut milk should contain at least 10% of fat while coconut cream should contain a minimum of 20% fat.
  2. It also mentions light coconut milk should contain a minimum of 5% of fat and condensed coconut milk should contain a minimum of 29% of fat.

No Thickening Agents Were Added to Bee Natural Organic Coconut Cream & Coconut milk !!!

Bee Natural Organic is an organic food brand from Ceylbee International (Pvt) Ltd and as Bee Natural Organic we offer you 100% organically certified coconut milk & coconut cream in a sterilized perfect quality easy open-able can which perfectly fits the busy lifestyle of modern consumers.

Coconut cream and milk may look like same but it differs in fat content as mentioned above. And consumers may think these two products are the same because we don't add thickening agents to make the difference as they believe. We can't and we don't add any preservatives or other kinds of food additives to our products because we are an organic food brand and those additives are not permitted.

We say this because it is a confusing factor to our consumers about the thickness. Conventionally, corn starch is added to the milk and cream to make it thick. (In most conventional food items corn starch is added to increase the thickness of liquids).

So when you are selecting a coconut milk or coconut cream product from us you are buying a real quality organic product with no additives.
